Oversized Safety Left Hand - Remington 870, 1100, 7600, and others

For Left-Handed shooters wanting to reverse the direction of the safety of the models listed below, Lumley also makes a right-handed safety here. The right-handed safeties on these triggers are not reversible without gunsmithing to the trigger plate. Lumley incorporates all the same features of the original Remington left-handed safeties and has tightened up specific dimensions for a more precise engagement between the 'safe' and 'fire' positions.  Also included is a replacement safety coil spring and safety detent ball which enables owners with the 'lSS/J lock' locking safety to convert their trigger plates so no key is required (typically found on firearms made from 2002 to 2005).

The Oversized Safety (dome head) by Lumley is a left-handed safety that is designed for use with gloves or when the small factory safety is difficult to engage. This is a durable safety that will never wear out, is highly resistant to corrosion, and has been made from the best materials with the best finishes applied. The deep serrations provide a very grippy surface for all weather conditions. Included in the kit is a red color o-ring to indicate when the safety is disengaged and the firearm is ready to fire. This o-ring will glow very mildly in the dark after it has absorbed U.V. light for those shooter that use their firearms in low light conditions. A small pin punch is required for installation.

Installation

We do not have instructions for products relating to triggers, however, the image gallery has renders showing how the components in this kit fit the trigger housing. If unsure about installation, we highly recommend having a qualified and competent gunsmith do the job. Always ensure the firearm is unloaded before commencing work and test that the safety functions exactly as it should upon reassembly whilst the firearm is unloaded. Be aware that the extra length and size that this safety provides will facilitate easier engagement allowing for it to move in the left direction (safety disengaged and ready to fire), care needs to be taken when handling the firearm to ensure that this does not occur unexpectedly. Moving the safety to the left (safety engaged) is similar in dimensions to the OEM safety, in the opposite direction.
